Under 12s Win North Antrim Final

The under 12 hurlers collected the first silverware of the year for Eoghan Rua with a  two goals to nil win over Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon at the North Antrim indoor finals on Saturday in Seven Towers Leisure Centre in Ballymena.

The team qualified for the final with five straight wins in Swatragh the previous week and continued their run with an excellent performance in the final to secure the title.

Leo Passmore cracked in two unstoppable efforts near the end of the first half which proved to be the difference between the teams.  In the second half Dungannon pushed hard for a score but Kieran Lafferty and Dara Mooney put in powerful performances at the back to repel the Tyrone team.

At the final whistle the Eoghan Rua boys were elated to get the victory they fully deserved.

The Eoghan Rua team were Dara Mooney, Kieran Lafferty, Lorcan McMullan, Costas Papacristopolis, Owen Bowyer, Leo Passmore, Colm Lynch.

Last One Standing – We Have A Winner of Competition 2

Congratulations to John Paul Bradley who is the outright winner of LOS Competition 2.

John Paul picked Everton to beat West Bromwich Albion in their New Years Day fixture and emerged victorious following a close run with Charlie Bonner, Rachael Gaile, Gareth Peden & Anthony Colgan.

Charlie & Gareth still had two lives each going into the Christmas fixtures but their luck deserted them on Boxing Day & stayed away on New Years Eve. Anthony will probably be philosophical about his good run and hope for a Hurling LOS in the near future and the word on the street suggests there has been a court of enquiry established in the Gaile household to determine where it all went wrong!

John Paul lost a life in the first week but went on to select a winning team in each of the following ten fixtures.  How’s that for perseverance!
The good news for the rest of us is that Competition 3 will be starting in a couple of weeks!
